Élisa Féraud (*1998, Sion)
She graduated with honours from HEAD–Geneva in 2021 and obtained her Master's degree in Fine Arts from the Zürcher Hochschule der Künste in 2024. Her practice focuses on creating sculptures, drawings, and fanzines. Her research occasionally leads her to work with performance, installation, video, and costume design.
Her artistic practice is nourished by elements often perceived as insignificant. They thus reflect a preoccupation with the trivial and the flawed. Her work thus conflicts with apparent perfection and contemporary efficiency. By mobilising this collection of fragments from ambient consumerism and their links to the body — textiles, packaging, make-up, wax — her works deploy their symbolic potential in an in-depth exploration of attraction and affect. The precision in the selection of elements contrasts with an assumed amateurism, the artist engaging in a constant dialogue between intention and accident, planning and impulsiveness. Her current research focuses on representations of eroticism and seduction in the contemporary visual culture and their limitations. She is interested in how these images keep our bodies, emotions, and dreams hostage and explores strategies for subverting them. At the heart of her practice, Élisa Féraud seeks to create an experience in which the viewer's body and sensations are engaged, leading to an immediate and visceral encounter with the work rather than imposing a fixed narrative.
She recently presented Mouth Full, her first solo exhibition at the Material gallery (Zurich, 2025).
She is open to illustration commissions.
